The digital skills test

What it measures
It measures actual handling, not computing theory: it follows the European DigComp framework — using tools, working with data, communicating and staying safe. Like the other knowledge tests, you sit it in your language 2.
Official format
- Digital skills
- 40 questions · 30 min
- Pass mark · Digital skills
- 20/40
Format taken from eur-lex.europa.eu · verified on September 10, 2026
What the questions look like
Situations, not definitions

Short questions framed as things that happen in an office: a spreadsheet to interpret, a file to share with someone outside, an email asking for credentials, a piece of personal data going somewhere it should not.
You are asked what you would do, not what it is called.
Where people lose it
- Thinking it is about coding. There is no code anywhere; there is use, judgement and security.
- Rushing the security and data-protection items. They are the most failed, and the most alike.
- Trusting habit. What is done at your workplace is not always what the framework treats as correct.
- Forgetting it is in language 2, like the other knowledge tests.
How you practise here
Here you sit it with the questions from the notice, its minutes and the EPSO interface, and when you finish you see the score and where your time went.
